::The good: - German bureocracy, come prepared and you will be fine. - Staff is not "nice", but quite professional. I'm not here to make friends, I'm here to process my documents. The bad: - Certain staff member was unwilling to certify my documents, when the website clearly lists it as a paid service?? (got it done in the end, but this is quite ridiculous) Please note: - The website does not list everything you need, or is vague. The checklist contains documents with incorrect naming. (I had to refer to the German embassy in India for the correct list) - Did you know you need to make copies of the document for certification yourself? Me neither. - I booked an appointment and arrived early. But in the end I waited more than 1 hour extra. Appointments are pointless if they are not on time. - Not the embassy's fault, but the elevator system is poorly designed (not designed?). Ask for instructions before entering.

::Got the visa same day as my scheduled flight. The staff here are bordering on the offensive when asking for, on a few back and forths, so many additional documents that are not otherwise part of the required list - no matter my job, assets, permanent status, or previous travel to Europe and elsewhere.

::Does not care about students. Students all over Taiwan have been waiting for months to study in Germany, and while the German alien departments would process student applications, German Institute in Taiwan would wait weeks or longer and say that they cannot do anything. This means anyone planning to study in Germany in September, and have applied since June, can expect to start school in October or later. The German Institute has some of the most unprofessional and impolite staff I've ever encountered. While there are a few shining lights of people in there, the rest of the department is run by people who think bureaucracy and being unreasonable to work with is par for the course. Beware.

::Most Unprofessional Service quality. Sit on a high horse and delay peoples paperwork. 2 Weeks to get an appointment and 2 weeks to get a visa. Tie up with the worst delivery company in Taiwan the delivery comes 2 days late. Absolutely ridiculous !!!!!!!
