  The Japanese temple is inside the office buildings surrounding it. Follow the driveway in. There is also a small temple outside to the left which I didn’t go in but was very colorful outside. Close to the MRT station and Expo Park. Nice natural wood and carvings in the Japanese era temple.

  簡介牌，上面介紹佛寺的歷史： 臨濟護國禪寺。1911年創建 日人據臺之初，總督兒玉源太郎禮聘臨濟宗日本僧人得庵玄秀禪師來台籌建，以弘法佈教，禪寺歷時十一年始落成，成為繼曹洞宗後另一支佛教宗派，影響深遠。 禪寺背倚圓山，有基隆河蜿蜒流經，寺院開闊，格局宏整，具清幽毓靈之氣。原配有山門、法堂、大雄寶殿及附屬方丈室。山門、大雄寶殿構工尤為嚴謹，為台灣現存日據時期木造佛寺最可觀者

  維護狀況良好，大雄寶殿壯觀森嚴 臨濟護國禪寺是日本江戶時代典型佛寺建築，也是目前臺灣現存日治時期木造建築中，興建年代最早代表作。因使用臺灣檜木建造，信眾接近大雄寶殿，就能聞到撲鼻檜木香。大雄寶殿為重檐歇山頂式建築 (日本稱之為入母屋造)。大殿台基的石欄杆柱石上，刻有日本往生者姓名，環繞於大殿，目的為祈求神佛的庇護。大雄寶殿主祀釋迦牟尼佛，上方掛「慈悲為懷」匾額；右側副祀「觀世音菩薩」，上方掛「現壽者相」匾額；左側為「地藏王菩薩」，上方掛「戒壽並尊」匾額，樣貌莊嚴為早期所留下，作者已不可考。
