  Service was fast. We got here while waiting for train at Hualien station.

  Plain service. Bread is dry and tough. I got very very little vegetables but loads sauce instead. First Subway when I open the wrap and only able to see the bread without vegetable falling out.

  Dieters beware! Subway in Hualien has a staff member that is amused by insulting customers. She asked me, "Are you pregnant?" The level of ignorance was outstanding. As a man, pregnancy is quite impossible. I am 185 cm tall and weigh 110 kgs, so I do have a bit of a belly. Still my stomach does not warrant comments from strangers. Her attempt at humor, and belittling me for her own pleasure enraged me. I just said goodbye and left. But I had to return to talk to one of the owners. I could not let that insult stand. The owner seemed to have no sympathy for me and only remarked that she hadn't understood the English insult. However I was pretty angry, and sure my tone of voice was not productive. There was nothing she could have said to make me feel better. This insult will never be remedied. I wish I had gone to McDonald's. Honestly, I gave up McDonald's and have not eaten it in over four months. I am trying to shed a few pounds, but it won't be done at Subway. I wish I could give it zero stars, but to post I have to select one star.
