Better to go to the (paid entry) observation deck when visibility is really high. There's a gift shop inside with some great souvenirs. Indoor observatory floor includes photo booth, VR experience, glass/mirror floor. Outdoor observatory is on a higher floor. On the lower levels, the mall with many high end vendors such as Gucci and Dior. The mall itself is huge, the structure is a marvel in itself. Lower level is the food court, a variety of foods, some vegetarian.

Wow, this building has no words to describe it! It’s huge, incredible architecture and design and from inside it’s incredibly impressive as well. I’ve only been to this mall in Taipei but, if this is how they all are, I’m impressed. You can find many high end boutiques here. They have a food court which I was a bit surprised at the lack of food diversity. It is mostly local foods that you find with street vendors but at a markup lol. There is direct access to the subway, which makes it easy to get to. Highly recommend this place!

Has always love visiting this place..... nice food selection at the ground floor... with courteous staff and lovely smiles... The only downside is too many people!!!! There is also a reasonable selection of local cuisine to bring back for the love ones back home...At the top of the Taipei 101... we will get to see the wonderful 360 view of Taipei... it's definitely a must visit place for many people :)

Good. Construction on the 101-story tower started in 1999 and finished in 2004. The tower has served as an icon of modern Taiwan ever since its opening. The building was architecturally created as a symbol of the evolution of technology and Asian tradition. Its postmodernist approach to style incorporates traditional design elements and gives them modern treatments. The tower is designed to withstand typhoons and earthquakes. A multi-level shopping mall adjoining the tower houses hundreds of stores, restaurants and clubs. 2004 to present, fireworks launched from Taipei 101 feature prominently in international New Year's Eve broadcasts and the structure appears frequently in travel literature and international media. Taipei 101 is owned by Taipei Financial Center Corporation. The name that was originally planned for the building, Taipei World Financial Center, until 2003, was derived from the name of the owner.

Having a few hours to kill in Taipei. I went up the 101. One of the most impressive aspects is the amazing speed of the elevators. They are truly astounding. The views are kinda of what you’d expect. And on the cloudy day they were fine. What is also cool Is the stabilization ball inside the middle of the building which helps to keep the swaying down. There is also a video of the ball swinging wildly during a typhoon and people staggering around trying to keep on their feet. Fortunately the day I visited it was very calm and barely moving.
