  Good place to shop around for local desert and food. Anping castle is a paid attraction

  small street with shops. Good to walk around while you are in Anping. I enjoyed the street where I could feel very local and people were friendly and kind.

  安平 is like 九份 on the plains but a few times larger, more authentic and steeper in local flavours. There are many stalls selling the same delicacies, so make sure you do your homework and go to the more acclaimed ones. As a foreigner, I had enjoyed this place very much. Apart from the delicious local food, I was also intrigued by their culture. Tainan is very different from Taipei but to me it feels more like the real "Taiwan".
