::Don’t be fooled by the pictures you see on hotel booking websites. It shows beds and looks spacious but they actually provide mattresses and the room is tiny. Furthermore, you will need to pay 320TWD to include another person to stay with you, that only consists of toiletries and a towel. With NO extra mattress or pillow. If you want a mattress and pillow you will have to pay 460TWD. Also, receptionists can’t be bothered to ensure your stay is comfortable and are always missing even during breakfast hours for guests. Rooms are really expensive and not worth the stay. Location wise, it is relatively convenient as it is next to Taichung Main Station. Think twice if you decide to stay here. Take note that they reuse their room access cards so if you lose it you will have to pay for it.

::A small hotel in a quiet residential area. Although small, it is modern and adequately equipped. Buses are easy to get to. There are places for groceries near by but for visiting tourist spots, walking is too far. Friendly and helpful.
Xiu Xuan
::A great budget hotel with all the necessities from a flat screen TV, hair dryer, toiletries, kettle, to even a mini fridge. It is also near to the bus stops with buses to the main attractions in the city, and is less than a 5-minutes' walk to Taichung Railway Station. Location is great if you have an early train to catch. The building itself is old but the cafe and the rooms are all newly renovated. The cafe serves reasonably good breakfast. Room is small but clean. There is also a washing machine and a dryer on Level 7 for hotel guests at a nominal charge. For the price we paid, this hotel is comfortable enough and worth it.
