::We stop by here every time we pass through Hualien and each time we've come away happy and full. Everything is fresh, authentic, and delicious. The desert is homemade too. I think they must be struggling a little after the earthquake and tourist decline, please do give them a try!

::Great BBQ in Hualien! The best BBQ food and service that I have experienced so far in Taiwan :)

::Seasonal salad with smoked brisket and a side of homemade chili! Oh hell yeah! Don't miss this place!

::Salt Lick has beautiful Western decor styled like an Old West Saloon. The place is separated into an indoor and outdoor seating area. The outdoor space leads to a courtyard space where the restroom is. The bad news is the toilet looks like an outhouse and smells like one. For food, the buffalo wings are decent, and they have a pretty tasty poutine. I also tried the black angus prime rib. Good news is that they can be trusted to do medium rare properly throughout the steak, despite its thick cut. The bad news is that the cut was rather sinewy and a little tough. The pulled pork was rather ho-hum and the baked beans side dish was too sweet, making it closer to Chinese red bean soup dessert. Lastly, I believe that a float should be served in a chilled glass and no ice, but Salt Lick served it with ice. Not a criminal transgression, but one more thing in a mediocre experience. Price point was also a bit high - two mains (pulled pork sandwich and prime rib) and buffalo wings for about TWD 2150. Especially considering the disappointing quality.

::Huge portions and food was delicious! Will need to make room for dessert and then some. Worth the visit but rather bit pricey!
