  主後1947年1月5日，艋舺教會年會議決開設支會為其教會設教七十週年紀念。1月12日即請莊丁昌牧師自新店教會搬來台北，使用這所日人美以美教會原有的牧師宿舍為堂址。

  Here we have a Presbyterianism church. One of the earliest form of Christianity here in Taiwan. George L. Mackay (Canadian) came in 1872 and adopted Christianity into local beliefs. Also built hospitals, schools, over 60 churches. Was not welcomed by local leaders because the idea of only one absolute god is against traditional Taiwanese beliefs (Buddhist, Daoist, Confucism) but they were moved after witnessing Mackay’s dedication.
