A few people took wedding photos here. If you have an interest in engineering and the city's history it might be worth a look.

Two takeaways from this fascinating museum. First, what kind of colonial power would build such a beautiful building to house such mundane machinery? Second, after the war, many of the Japanese colonial factories were sent back to China or melted down for scrap. How and why did this pumping plant remain intact? This museum is a great preservation of the motors and pumps used to pump river water through a treatment system then up to a reservoir on a hill to supply Taipei with clean water in the early 1900s. It's significance is primarily the elimination of water borne diseases in Taipei. I find it amazing that it is so well preserved. You can get up close to the old machinery and imagine how it used to work. This is one of my favorite small museums in Taipei.

This is a beautiful place to visit, but it's run by a private company so they charge you for every visit. We only go for the cherry blossoms now.

The museum is housed in a beautiful old building with a large garden. You will see lots of families playing here and photographers immortalizing their young models or their soon-to-be married couples here. There are several old machines on display, but we have no idea how they work. Nice place to hang out, but little educational value. A missed opportunity.
