Excellent furnishing. Great cottage feel and we'll maintained rooms. Close proximity to the street food, pier and the sun moon lake ropeway are definitely plus points. 😀

Hotel has a good location and is perhaps the only building in Sun Moon Lake that makes some effort to fit in with its surroundings. The rest of the place is a concrete mess. Unable to check in until after 3pm which, in fairness, is exactly what their booking confirmation stated. However every other hotel we stayed in during our fortnight in Taiwan let us check in as soon as we arrived. The reception area with all the wood is impressive, though it's showing its age. Our room was right next to the reception area and quite noisy as people came and went. The room included breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was good, with a wide selection of dishes. Dinner was a strange affair. We were quickly shown to a table which was laid so that each diner faced out of the window looking over the lake. Unfortunately after dark there's no view and all the windows do is mirror your own reflection. After waiting an age for a waiter or waitress to appear I gave up and found the restaurant manager. He explained that dinner was a set menu. A variety of dishes including a mushroom salad, soup, fish, bits of boney meat, beansprouts, prawns and an omelette were all brought to the table along with a pot of black English tea. We weren't asked if wanted anything else to drink. The staff seemed distracted by a large, loud group of diners at another table and focussed all of their attention on them. We just ate the random dishes that arrived and departed. Probably the worst dining experience we'd had in Taiwan during the holiday. We ended up at the local 7-Eleven to buy a few snacks and drinks in order to satisfy our appetite.
